Day 1: Sun moon lake

Cycle: 30km / 19 miles, lake circumference.
Following your pickup, we’ll head straight to stunning Sun Moon Lake and set up your bikes. The lake is the largest body of water in Taiwan, and the relaxing cycling route around it is included in the 10 Most Breathtaking Cycling Routes in the World, as listed by CNN.
Surrounded by forested mountains, Sun Moon Lake offers breathtaking views, particularly during sunrise and sunset. The calm, reflective waters are framed by rolling hills.
You can relax this afternoon on your balcony with a view of the lake, watching the afternoon colours change to dusk pastels. The area often has a misty atmosphere in the mornings, adding to its tranquil charm

Day 2: Sun Moon Lake – nantou valley
Cycle: 65 km / 40 miles
From the hotel, we’ll ride the southern shore of Sun Moon Lake and continue alongside part of the Zhuoshui river, Taiwan's longest , then follow a tributary. On this route we're never out of sight of the cloud kissed mountain ranges on either side of the valley, while cycling through rural communities and riverside towns.
This Central Mountain Range offers breathtaking views and abundant wildlife. The riverbanks in the Nantou area are home to a rich ecosystem with a variety of plant and animal species
We'll finish the ride at a local eatery, complete with a stunning view, then drive to our accommodation.
For tonight we'll enjoy the peaceful countryside, with our stellar accommodation surrounded by lush forest and betel nut palm plantations.

Day 3: Meishan – tea plantation – Tainan
Cycle: 60 km / 37 miles
Today, cycling from the hotel, we’ll be going along a magnificent road with 36 turns winding its way down the hills past terraces of tea plantations. Soak in the views of the surrounding mountains, rolling hills and vast coastal plain.We'll also stop at one of the local plantations and taste some of the best tea in Taiwan, and have a personal tour by the owner.
After winding our way through country lanes and villages with ornate local temples (where farmers and shopkeepers have lived for generations), we’ll finish the ride by a picturesque reservoir.
We’ll then head into Tainan, Taiwan’s original capital, and foodie heaven! We know some great spots to go for dinner.

Day 4: Tainan – south coast
Cycle: 26 km / 16 miles + 20 km / 12 miles
Following a realxing breakfast we'll ride along a beautiful bike path which takes in Tainan's riverway, and beaches.
Tainan is the oldest city in Taiwan (and the original capital) holding deep cultural and historical significance, and is an important center for culture, religion, and history.
After lunch at one of many delicious restaurants in Taiwan's original capital - we'll head south and have our second ride of the day. This will be along the tropical south-west coast, finishing at beautiful Baisha beach, where you're welcome to jump in for a relaxing swim.
The south of Taiwan is often compared to Hawaii, with its beautiful beaches and warm water. No wonder, as it’s almost on the same latitude.

Day 5: Southern Mountain range
Cycle: 42 km / 26 miles (+ optional 22km / 14 miles)
We’ll jump in the van after breakfast and head into the Southern mountain ranges.
At the peak, we’ll jump onto the bikes and enjoy a beautiful ride down the hills and onto some peaceful roads that run right next to the vast blue Pacific. Saying this ride has stunning views barely does it justice.
We’ll stop by a small harbour and beach perfect for a dip. We can finish here or continue riding for another 22km (if you’d like) through the coastal hills, ending at an agricultural village for lunch. The area retains a more rural charm with agriculture, local temples, and scenic mountain landscapes.
We’ll then drive to our same accommodation tonight by Nanwan Beach. You can enjoy the sunset on the golden sands, or from the picturesque rooftop terrace.

Day 6: Southern Peninsular Ride
Cycle: 40 km / 25 miles
Following breakfast (and maybe another morning beach walk and swim, yes?), we’ll do a magic ride around the peninsular today, starting and finishing at the accommodation.
You’ve got a late checkout; we want you to enjoy your last day as much as possible!
We’ll cycle by the most southerly point of Taiwan, past beautiful bays, grasslands, and sandy beaches. This coastal route hosts dramatic cliffs and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and the Bashi Channel.
Then it's back to the hotel where you can shower and pack.
We’ll then take you to Tainan High-Speed Rail for your departure.
